Reset

At every Volaire event, there will come a time when the energy dips, the sun shifts, and the world takes a breath. This is known as the Reset.

What Is Reset?

Reset is a scheduled Out-of-Play pause that occurs roughly halfway through the event. It's when:

  • Mages return to their grimoires to restudy their spells
  • Warriors take time to meditate, sharpen blades, or train
  • Everyone—no matter their class—takes a breather
What Do I Do During Reset?

You may use this time however you’d like Out-of-Play, but your character must be considered “resting” or “studying” for at least 20 minutes. This is a non-negotiable part of the game world and is treated as an in-universe requirement.

During Reset, you should:

  • Pull your Per Day cards (spell cards, class abilities, etc.)
  • Stretch your limbs and move around a bit
  • Hydrate and grab a snack
  • Touch base with a staff member if you need clarification, restocking, or support

This is a great opportunity to mentally regroup, plan your next moves, or check in with your fellow party members Out-of-Play.

In-Play Representation

Even though the Reset is a mechanical necessity, it is woven into the world of Volaire. When Reset begins:

  • Casters may be seen in quiet study circles
  • Fighters may enter silent drills or sparring meditation
  • Rogues may sneak off to find a cool stone to nap against (definitely just meditating)

Think of Reset as a moment where the world breathes—and so should you.
